BEAR CREEK TWP. - State police at Wyoming filed several summary traffic violations against an East Stroudsburg man for a three vehicle crash that claimed the life of a woman on Jan. 12.
Fatmir Mece, 39, of Dancing Ridge Road, was cited with speeding, careless driving causing death, driving a vehicle with unsafe tires, passing a vehicle in an unsafe manner and failing to stay on roadway. The citations were filed by state police on Tuesday.
State police allege Mece was traveling south on state Route 115 in the right lane and attempting to pass a vehicle at about 4 p.m. Mece lost control of his vehicle that spun and struck a vehicle driven by Paul D. Johnson Jr., 42, of Montrose, who was traveling north on Route 115.
Mece's vehicle continued to spin out of control that struck a vehicle driven by Kimberly Biggs Keil, 45, of Bear Creek Township.
Keil was traveling in the northbound lane of Route 115. She died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
State police allege Mece was speeding and was operating a vehicle with bald tires.
