Cougars hold off Pitt-Greensburg

DALLAS -- Steve Ware recorded a double-double scoring a game-high 18 points and grabbing 14 boards to lead the Misericordia University men's basketball team to a 79-61 victory over Pitt-Greensburg on Tuesday.


Justin Grotevant added 17 points for the Cougars, while Joe Busacca chipped in 12.


Rocco Constristano scored a team-high 16 points for Pitt-Greensburg.


Women's Basketball
Mary Washington 52, Wilkes 34

Megan Kazmerski led Wilkes with 10 points as the Colonels shot 20 percent from the field in its loss to Mary Washington in the opening round of the Cruzin Classic.


Lindsey Chester came off the bench to score a season-high seven points and pulled down five boards in the loss.


Aby Diop led Mary Washington with 14 points and nine rebounds.


Muhlenberg 93, Misericordia 41

Tyann McDaniel scored 13 to lead Misericordia in its loss to Muhlenberg.


Lauren Smicherko chipped in nine points and pulled in a team-high five boards for Misericordia.


Leanna Lanza scored a game-high 16 points to lead Muhlenberg in its victory.


Men's Tennis
King's coach claims honors

King's College men's tennis coach Bill Eydler earned the Edwin C. Faulkner Coach of the Year honors from the United States Tennis Association Middle States Division, and the USTA Eastern Pennsylvania District Coach of the Year award.


The Faulkner award is given to a coach who demonstrates enthusiasm, a sense of true team camaraderie and brings success to the community. The USTA EPD award honors success on the court as well as overall contribution to the game.


Eydler coached King's to a 14-10 record this season and a berth in the Freedom Conference Tournament.

Wyoming Area pinned four opponents and won nine of its matches en route to a victory over Blue Ridge.

Cayle Spencer scored a game-high 20 points to lead Lake-Lehman past Coughlin.


Emily Sutton added 14 points for Lake-Lehman, while Danae Sutliff chipped in seven in the victory.
