Cougars player wins academic honor

Misericordia's Laura Roney has been named to the CoSida Capital One Women's Soccer Academic All-America team.


A fourth-year student in Misericordia's physical therapy doctoral program, Roney was named to the Capital One second-team. She maintains a 3.89 grade point average.


On the field, Roney was second on the Cougars in scoring with 39 points and 14 goals while tying for the team lead with 11 assists


Colonels duo recognized

Wilkes' Katy Fissel and Lyndsay Ellis were named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference 2012 Women's Soccer Division III South All-Star Team.


Ellis was chosen to the list of defenders after this season's career-best nine assists and two goals. A starter in all 21 contests on the year, Ellis was named All-Freedom Conference for the fourth straight year, a feat that no other Lady Colonel has accomplished in a four-year span.


Fissel earned a spot as a midfielder after recording 19 points on seven goals and five assists this season. A three-time All-Freedom performer, Fissel finished her career with 49 points on 17 goals and 15 helpers.
