7 p.m. today
The Coaches: Coughlin's Ciro Cinti (39-36, 8th year); Crestwood's Greg Myers (48-46, 8th year)
Last Meeting: Crestwood 28-16 in 2011
All-Time Series: Coughlin leads 11-4
Quick Fact: Crestwood has won the last two meetings.
Scouting Coughlin: The Crusaders' chances at the D2-3A playoffs ended with a 34-7 loss to Berwick last Friday. So it's back to the Eastern Conference if there is to be a postseason.
Coughlin went down early to Berwick and isn't built offensively to play from behind. The Crusaders' 163 rushing yards were their third-lowest total of the season. It didn't help that 1,400-yard rusher Zac Evans missed most of the second half with an injury. He carried just nine times for 25 yards, both season lows.
Scouting Crestwood: The Comets clinch the third seed in the D2-3A playoffs with a victory. A loss and the district tournament could come down to what Dallas does against Lake-Lehman on Saturday.
If Crestwood takes business in its own hands, it will be with a versatile offense similar to Berwick, which defeated Coughlin last week. QB Jay Popson will pick his times to throw, especially to WR Kota Kishel. Kishel could reach 1,000 yards receiving with 116 more. RB Frank Aigeldinger has been outstanding over the second half of the season. The defense must stop the run versus Coughlin.
What To Expect: Crestwood hasn't defeated a team with a winning record in any of its last nine victories. The Comets could have a tough time changing that fact.
