Martha Butler, head librarian at the Dallas Library, was a recent guest of the Dallas Lions Club at a dinner meeting at the Metro Bar and Grill. Butler spoke to the club about the various services the library provides to the community and how cutbacks in Harrisburg have affected its funding. The club presented her with two checks, $700 from the proceeds of the golf tournament held at Newberry Estates and the annual gift of $500 for the large-print books and other items for the sight-impaired. At the check presentation, from left: Joseph Czarnecki, president, Dallas Lions; Butler; and Don Berlew, golf tournament co-chairman and member, Lions Club.
