NEW YORK — Jasmine Dixon scored five of her 13 points during a 12-0 run in the second half and No. 14 UCLA beat Saint Mary's 76-62 on Saturday in the St. John's Holiday Classic.

The Bruins will play St. John's in the championship game Sunday, while the Gaels face Tennessee Tech in the consolation game.

Trailing 49-48 midway through the second half, Dixon scored five straight points to kick off the game-changing burst for UCLA (6-1). Jackie Nared finally ended the 5-minute scoring drought for the Gaels, hitting two free throws to close the deficit to 60-51.

That's as close as they'd get with Atonye Nyingifa scoring eight straight points to seal the win. Markel Walker had 15 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Bruins, and Alyssia Brewer added 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Danielle Mauldin scored a career-high 26 points and Nared added 17 to lead Saint Mary's (6-3).

Washington State 62, Ohio State 55

PULLMAN, Wash. — Lia Galdeira scored 13 of her 15 points in the second half to help Washington State upset Ohio State.

Washington State (3-5) led 28-23 at halftime. Ohio State came back to lead 36-32, but the Cougars forced three straight turnovers. Taylor Edmondson's 3-pointer put the Cougars ahead for good, 40-37.

Ohio State (6-3) had a good look at a potential tying 3-pointer with 33 seconds to play, but missed on two chances and was forced to foul. Galdeira hit all four of her free throws to clinch it.

Washington State forced 21 turnovers and forced Ohio State to go 1 for 17 from 3-point range.
