PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Michael Vick is pointing the finger at the Philadelphia media for some of the troubles affecting the slumping Philadelphia Eagles.
Vick says the media can create a lot of turmoil for us sometimes. Vick says the quieter the press can be in critiquing the Eagles, the easier it will be for them to focus.
Vick was on the hot seat after throwing eight interceptions and losing five fumbles in the first six games. Coach Andy Reid came out and named Vick the starter for Monday's game at New Orleans, and beyond.
Vick, a four-time Pro Bowl player, has struggled this season and Philadelphia (3-4) has lost three straight games. He shot down speculation on Saturday that were was dissention between him and certain assistant coaches. Vick says his relationship with the assistants was never discussed during his one-on-one meeting this week with Reid.
