Euro jumps to 10-month high vs dollar

(AP) The euro hit a 10-month high against the dollar following last week's decision by the European Central Bank to leave its benchmark interest rate unchanged.


ECB President Mario Draghi also said late last week that he expects the economy in the 17-country bloc that uses the euro to recover slightly in late 2013.


The euro rose as high as $1.3403, its highest point against the dollar since Feb. 29. The euro was worth $1.3338 late Friday.


In other trading, the British pound fell to $1.6066 from $1.6121.


The dollar rose to 89.33 Japanese yen from 89.20 yen and to 0.9179 Swiss franc from 0.9130 Swiss franc.
