Everhart Museum announces new exhibit focused on vampires to open February 1
Last Modified: February 20. 2013 2:32AM
The Blood is the Life examines the art of blood and the vampire in literature, film, and contemporary art. The exhibit's cultural content looks at ancient legends of vampires and other mythical creatures, as well as techniques used to prevent vampirism in the recently deceased.
In a nod to the Everhart Museum's science
collection, The Blood is the Life also highlights the study of vampiric creatures in the natural world and explores the nature of blood disease and hematology in the history of medicine.
Financial support for this exhibit is provided by PNC Bank and Michael Harris. The Blood is the Life will be open during regular museum hours and on view through July 2, 2013.
