WILKES-BARRE - Luzerne County Judge Richard Hughes determined Daniel Loughnane violated conditions of bail when he spoke with his son's mother, who was a witness in a fatal hit-and-run case.

Loughnane, 40, of West Liberty Street, Hanover Township, was permitted to only have contact with Jessie Spencer about custody arrangements for their son. Prosecutors claimed Loughnane talked with Spencer about her testimony in court.

Wilkes-Barre police charged Loughnane with leaving the scene of an accident that claimed the life of Rebecca McCallick on Hazle Avenue on July 24.

Hughes allowed Loughnane to remain free on $50,000 bail and ordered him not to have any contact with Spencer. Loughnane and Spencer will meet to go through a third party to arrange child custody visits.
