Former prison guard charged with taking contraband into prison

Edward J. Davis, 28, of Kingston, was charged with with six counts of contraband involving telecommunication device, three counts of institutional sexual assault, and one count of contraband involving a controlled substance. He was arraigned by District Judge Diana Malast in Plains Township and released on $75,000 bail.
State police allege Davis was caught by teh prison's security office on Jan. 14, 2012, bringing contraband into the state prison located in Jackson Township. A news release did not include information regarding why Davis was charged with sexual assault.
