SCRANTON - A former official with several Back Mountain youth sporting organizations was indicted today by a federal grand jury on a charge of possession of child pornography.

George Gracely III, 51, of Grandview Avenue, Harvey's Lake, had previously been charged by state authorities with 70 counts of possession of child pornography. Officials opted to transfer the case to federal court, leading to today's indictment.

Gracely had been involved with youth sports organizations, including the Dallas Youth Basketball Association and Back Mountain Baseball Association, for more than 15 years prior to his initial arrest in April. He was suspended from participation in all organizations following his arrest.
