Students in the general psychology class at Fortis Institute, Forty Fort, recently held a bake sale during cancer awareness month. Students donated a variety of baked goods. Raffles were held for baskets with items made by the staff and faculty. A 50-50 drawing was also held. The raffle prizes included gift certificates from Wolfgang Puck, Mohegan Sun; Tipsy Turtle, Forty Fort; Grotto Pizza, Harveys Lake; Happy Pizza, Plymouth; and the White House Diner, Forty Fort. More than $500 was raised at the event. The proceeds were divided between Candy's Place and the Making Strides Walk.
