Seven elected Democrats, including four of the six council presidents in the 120th, have thrown their support behind Kaufer??s campaign against 22-year incumbent, Democrat Phyllis Mundy, a fellow Kingston resident.
In a letter explaining their endorsement, Denise Adams (Exeter Borough Council President), Jack Ruane (Exeter Township Chairman of Supervisors), Michael Jancuska (Luzerne Council President), Michael Berish (Pringle Council President), and Luzerne Borough Council members Jason Tarreto, Mary Ellen Schell and Judy Gober, called Aaron Kaufer ??an independent reformer, committed to doing what is right for every citizen of the Wyoming Valley ?? regardless of party affiliation.?
??Aaron has the kind of leadership we need right now. At a time when party division seems to be so deep, Aaron has been able to bring people from all parties together,? said Berish in a release issued Wednesday afternoon by the Kaufer campaign.
