Kristin Gelsleichter and Christian Albert Barsh, together with their families, announce their engagement and approaching marriage.


The bride-to-be is the daughter of William and Nadine Gelsleichter, Tunkhannock. She is the granddaughter of the late William and Ginger Gelsleichter and the late Murray and Doris Hoyt, all of Wilkes-Barre.


The prospective groom is the son of Albert and Jeanne Barsh, Luzerne. He is the grandson of Eleanor Barsh, Edwardsville; the late Albert Barsh, Larksville; and the late Frank and Jean Gaiteri, Luzerne.


The bride-to-be is a 2004 graduate of Tunkhannock Area High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Misericordia University in 2008. She is employed as a registered nurse case manager at Geisinger Health Plan in Wilkes-Barre.


The prospective groom is a 2000 graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from Penn State University, Wilkes-Barre, in 2005. He is employed as a case manager for Children's Service Center in Wilkes-Barre.


The couple will exchange vows on Oct. 19, 2013, at Bennett Presbyterian Church, Luzerne. An evening cocktail hour and reception will follow at the Appletree Terrace at Newberry Estates, Dallas.


The couple resides in Luzerne with their two dogs.
