Giuliani to campaign in WB on behalf of Barletta

WILKES-BARRE - Former New York City Mayor and Presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani will campaign in soon on behalf of Republican U.S. Congressional candidate Lou Barletta.

Vince Galko, a Barletta campaign advisor, confirmed Saturday afternoon that campaign staff have been in talks with Giuliani's staff to have Giuliani appear in Wilkes-Barre to support Barletta's bid for Congress. Galko said Giuliani offered his assistance to Barletta.

Barletta, mayor of Hazleton and previous congressional candidate, will face off against Democrat Paul Kanjorski for the 11th Congressional seat during the general election in November.

Giuliani is expected to speak at Gennetti's Hotel and Conference Center on East Market Street in Wilkes-Barre on July 19. Other details of the visit have not yet been finalized.  Galko said he couldn't confirm a date or place yet.
