Hanover Area (0-9)
at
Nanticoke
(3-6)
7 p.m. today
The Coaches: Hanover Area's Ron Hummer (34-42, 7th year); Nanticoke's Ron Bruza (10-18, 3rd year)
Last Meeting: Nanticoke 24-21 in 2011
All-Time Series: Nanticoke leads 46-36-6
Quick Fact: Nanticoke's win last season was it first against Hanover Area since 1999.
Scouting Hanover Area: The Hawkeyes lost 22-0 to Lake-Lehman last Friday as they were shut out for the second time in three games. However, they played fairly well on defense against a team headed to the D2-2A playoffs.
Hanover Area ran the ball decently at times, with RB Ya'Sir Jones rushing for a career-high 99 yards. But five sacks pushed the net rushing yards to under 100 for a second time in three games. Turnovers were also troublesome once again as Hanover Area's turnover margin ballooned to a minus-11.
Scouting Nanticoke: The Trojans held their own for awhile against GAR, but like too many times this season they faltered. The result was a 42-0 loss, their worst setback of the season.
RB Pat Hempel had six receptions, but his rushing attempts have been down the last two games after gaining 150 yards against Holy Redeemer in week seven. The offense has been pretty mundane recently, but could perk up against Hanover Area.
What To Expect: It's Hanover Area's last chance for a win and Nanticoke's chance to top last season's win total. It should be a good game between the rivals.
