Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hockett, McFarland, Wis., and Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Doyle, Wilkes-Barre, are proud to announce the engagement of their children, Anna Lynn and Brian Thomas.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Elmer and Marieanne Peterson, Sun Prairie, Wis., and the late Victor and Mary Lou Hockett, Madison, Wis.
Anna was a four-time, all-state tennis and track and field athlete at McFarland High School, accepting a full scholarship to play tennis at Montana State University and later at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. As a senior team captain, she led the Bulldogs to the NCAA National Tournament. She graduated with a degree in communications. Anna is a practice management consultant for Retriever Dental and Medical.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Theresa Shiner, Hanover Township; the late Francis Shiner; Catherine Doyle, Plains Township; and the late Joseph J. Doyle.
Brian is a 2005 graduate of E.L. Meyers High School, where he was a four-year letter winner and captain of the football team. As a senior, he was selected as All-State. He was recruited by Colgate University, where he earned his bachelor's degree and was a member of two Patriot League Championship teams. He is currently president of Chicago Healthcare Payments, a division of Retriever Medical and Dental.
The future bride and groom, along with their parents, are planning an intimate 2013 wedding. They will be joined in the sacrament of Holy Matrimony in Old St. Patrick's Church, followed by an old Hollywood- themed reception at The Palmer House in downtown Chicago.
