DUPONT: Dupont Borough is sponsoring its annual Halloween party for community children from 5-7 tonight at the pavilion in the park on Elm Street. This year's theme is Pirates in the Park. Members of the Pittston Area Leo's Club will serve refreshments.


PLYMOUTH: Eastern Star Past Matrons and Past Patrons Association of Wyoming Valley will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at Happy Pizza, 40 W. Main Street. President Marge Swanek will preside.


A business meeting will take place after dinner and past presidents will be honored. There will also be a program after the meeting. Carolee Aycock and Wyoming 1 are the hosts.


Reservations are required and can be made by calling one of the following chapter reservation chairpersons: Deb Koch, Wyoming 1; Jane Thomas, Harmony 58; Marge Swanek, Wilkes-Barre 90; Mary Ellen Heinz, Mayflower 170; Lois Dunn, Nanticoke 174; or Hope Beisel, Dallas 396.


WILKES-BARRE: The Big Band Society of Northeastern Pennsylvania is holding a dinner dance for members only on Friday at the Genetti Hotel and Conference Center.


Doors will open at 5:45 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m. Music will be provided by King Henry and the Showmen. For reservations call Glen at 586-5359 or Herman at 654-6454.
