SCRANTON: The Holocaust Education Resource Center is hosting a free professional development conference for educators of grades 7-12 on Nov. 29 at Brennan Hall, University of Scranton.
There will two three-hour workshops led by expert national trainers. One workshop will train teachers in the use of the multi-media curriculum available on teaching the Holocaust, Echoes and Reflections, developed by the Yad Vashem International School of Holocaust, Jerusalem; the Shoah Foundation, University of South California; and the Anti Defamation League. A DVD accompanies the curriculum. Each participant will receive a free copy of the curriculum and the DVD. Extra copies will be available for purchase.
The second workshop addresses bullying. The Anti Defamation League's A World of Difference® Institute has created Becoming an Ally workshops as important tools in addressing bullying in all its forms.
