FREELAND: MMI Preparatory School is offering its entrance examination at 9 a.m. on Saturday. The exam is for students in grades 5-10 who are considering attending MMI Preparatory School next year. This is the only exam for admission for the 2013-2014 academic year.

The comprehensive entrance examination assesses general ability (verbal and quantitative), reading comprehension and mathematic achievement. Results of the examination also determine whether a student is eligible for an Academic Excellence Award. This scholarship is just one form of aid that MMI offers to help defray tuition costs.

Parents will be able to have refreshments and learn about the school's curriculum during the exam.

Registration is required and there is a $25 exam and application fee that can be paid on the morning of the exam. To register, contact Whitley at 636-1108 or awhitley@mmiprep.org. For more information, visit www.mmiprep.org.

WILKES-BARRE: Wilkes University Theatre's production of The Race Play by Israel Horovitz was one of nine regional university productions invited to the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) at Towson University in Baltimore, Md. The Race Play was directed by Dawson. The cast included Naomi Baker, James Alderiso, Luke Brady, Timothy King, Courtney Littlefield, Shaun Pierre, Samantha Prentice, Kassandra Richmond and Jennifer Villa.

The encore performance of The Race Play was performed on Jan. 15 in The Ruth Mader Theatre at Towson University in Baltimore.
