HUGHESTOWN: The Hughestown Lions Club recently announced the winners of the peace poster contest. Winners are, from sixth grade, Brianna Danaher, first place, and Kyla Klocko, second place; from seventh grade, Curtis Stoudt, first place, and Nicole Mayers, second place. First-place winners receive $50 and second-place winners receive $25.

WILKES-BARRE TWP.: A Penguins hockey game fundraiser for Tracey's Hope Animals will take place at 7 p.m. on Feb. 23 at the Mohegan Sun Arena. Cost is $21 for Red Zone seating. Price includes a hat. It is also Military Appreciation Night and Penguins dog tags will be given to the first 5,000 fans.
