Alliance Medical Group to present ‘Cycle of Life' seminar



The Alliance Medical Group will be conducting a free Cycle of Life-Obstetrics/Gynecological Care seminar from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Alliance Medical Group Women's & Children's Center, 1000 Alliance Drive in Hazleton.



The board-certified Alliance Medical Group Obstetrics/Gynecological team of Dr. Scott Muir, Dr. Sheila Hockman and Jennifer Ruch, RN, CNM, will answer questions about a girl's first gynecological visit, midwifery, infertility, prenatal care, bladder issues, peri- and post menopausal symptoms and treatment and more.


Debbie Shandrick, Robert Stevens: Face & Body, will answer skin care concerns and there will be a cosmetic laser demonstration provided by Dr. Muir.

Nominees sought for 2013 Gallery of Hope

Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania is seeking nominations for the 2013 Gallery of Hope, a traveling display containing survivor profiles and educational materials designed to raise awareness about the importance of early detection and treatment in the fight against breast cancer.


Any female or male breast cancer survivor residing within BCNEPA's 13-county service area can be nominated. Go to www.bcnepa.com/hope before Friday and click on Nominate a Survivor to nominate a friend or family member. The 2013 honorees will be announced in January.


The 2012 Gallery of Hope is currently available for exhibit throughout northeastern and north central Pennsylvania. To request the Gallery display for an upcoming event, visit www.bcnepa.com/hope.


Holistic Moms to discuss stress management during holidays

Holistic Moms Network of Wyoming Valley will present Stress Management for the Holidays at its next meeting from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Hoyt Library 284 Wyoming Ave., Kingston. Guest speaker Kelly Fry will offer ways to manage stress during the holidays and year round.


The Holistic Moms Network is a nonprofit support and resource network for parents interested in holistic health and green living. Fathers and children are also invited to attend. First meeting is free. For those who decide to join, fee is $45/year.

Tyler Memorial to offer free adult vaccine clinics

Tyler Memorial Hospital and the Wyoming County Community Alliance will hold influenza (flu) and pneumonia community vaccination clinics from 3 to 7 p.m. Nov. 6 and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 8 at Tyler Memorial Hospital, 5950 State Route 6, Tunkhannock.


Clinics are free to all adults. Refreshments will be served.
