(AP) Iranian news agencies say a political leader of ally Hamas has not been invited to this week's meeting of nonaligned nations in Tehran, but Hamas insists its prime minister will attend.

The conflicting reports over Ismail Haniyeh's plans reflect complications with the Palestinian delegation for the Non-Aligned Movement gathering, which opens Sunday. The main summit begins Thursday.

The office of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas says he will not attend if rival Haniyeh also takes part. Iranian-backed militant group Hamas controls Gaza while Abbas' administration governs the West Bank.

The semiofficial Mehr and ISNA news agencies quote the summit spokesman Mohammad Reza Forqani as saying Haniyeh was not invited.

But Haniyeh's office in the Gaza Strip says he plans to travel to Tehran Monday as guest of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
