Allen Pinkett will have two more weekends to think about what he said.

The Notre Dame radio analyst was suspended two more games without pay after comments last week that it was good to have a few "criminals" on a football team. Sitting out the Irish's opener against Navy was considered part of a three-game suspension in total.

"After careful deliberation and thorough discussion, we believe the right decision is to allow a truly repentant Allen Pinkett an opportunity to return to the booth beginning with the fourth game of the college football season," the Notre Dame IMG Radio Network said in a statement Tuesday.

Pinkett, in a statement, said he offered a "most sincere and heartfelt apology to all those affected by my inappropriate comments."

In an interview with WSCR-AM last week, Pinkett said he "always felt like, to have a successful team, you have to have a few bad citizens on the team," adding that Notre Dame "is growing because maybe they have some guys that are doing something worthy of a suspension."
