Joey is a grandson of Denise Welsh, Wilkes-Barre Township, and Don Welsh and the late Loretta and Joe Grochowski, all of Hanover Township. He is a great-grandson of Irene Rupert and Della Grochowski, both of Wilkes-Barre. Joey has a sister, Julia, 13.
