WILLIAMSPORT- With her team down one, Caitlin Kessler nailed the go-ahead jumper with nine seconds remaining in regulation to keep the Misericordia University women's basketball team undefeated on the season with a 59-58 victory over Lycoming College Tuesday.
Kayla Sileo led the Cougars with 14 points and six rebounds as Misericordia moved to 3-0 for the first time since the 1989-90 season.
Shannon Wheeler led Lycoming with 12 points.
Elena Stambone scored a game-high 19 points to lead Wilkes University to a victory over Marywood University.
Megan Kazmerski chipped in 10 points as the Lady Colonels moved to 3-0 on the season.
Brittany Mang led Marywood with 14 points.
King's College put together a 17-5 run late in the second half, but failed to finish off its comeback bid against the Lady Royals.
Katlin Michaels recorded 18 points, seven assists, six rebounds and three steals to lead the Lady Monarchs.
Marissa Manning added 14 points for King's, while Celia Rader chipped in 12.
Meredith Mesaris scored a game-high 20 points to lead the Lady Royals.
Men's Basketball Wilkes 101, Baptist Bible 85
Chris Shovlin scored a game-high 26 points and dished out 11 assists in Wilkes University's double-digit victory.
Bernard Edmonds added 18 points for the Colonels, while Jourdon Wilson chipped in 11. Brendan Sheldon also scored six points and pulled down 12 boards in the victory.
Abe Valentine led Baptist Bible with 19 points.
After building a 13-point halftime lead, Misericordia University watched the Royals outscore them 38-22 in the second half.
Steve Artzerounian led the Cougars with 19 points and eight rebounds, while Matt Greene chipped in 12 points.
Ross Danzig scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Royals in their comeback victory.
Keyton Winder scored a game-high 20 points, but King's College lost its first game of the season.
Tim O'Shea added 10 points for the Monarchs, while Matt Fiorino chipped in nine.
Reuel Moore scored a team-high 19 points for Albright.
Denzel Mensah led PSU Wilkes-Barre with a game-high 18 points in the Nittany Lions defeat.
Greg Cooper chipped in 12 points and six rebounds, while Bre-yan Jones added eight points and seven boards.
Kasheef Festus and Wali Hepburn each scored 16 points to lead Lock Haven.
