Eight King's College students, under the direction of history department faculty members Daniel Clasby and Thomas Mackaman, conducted extensive research on the 1919 Baltimore Mine Tunnel Disaster in Wilkes-Barre. The research effort was undertaken in response to a request from the Wilkes-Barre Mayor's office. The group completed an application for a state historical marker and presented their findings at the annual conference of the State Historical Society held in Harrisburg.
