It was announced today that Mercury Nashville recording artist and former season 10 American Idol winner Scotty McCreery will make his F.M. Kirby Center (71 Public Square, Wilkes-Barre) debut on Saturday, April 20 at 8 p.m.
McCreery released his debut album, Clear as Day, in October of 2011, following his triumphant run on American Idol. The album went platinum in just a few short months, breaking sales records in both digital and internet releases. He also became the first country artist to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
The 18-year-old North Carolina native has already toured the U.S. arena circuit, opening for country superstar Brad Paisley, and recently won a CMT Award for ??USA Breakthrough Video of the Year.? The Academy of Country Music also recognized him as 2012??s ??Best New Artist.?
His latest album, Christmas with Scotty McCreery, was released in October 2012 and boasts two new holidays songs and nine classics. It debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard country charts.
