WILKES-BARRE – James J. Brozena, executive director of the Luzerne County Flood Protection Authority, will address the Downtown Residents Association on Wednesday, Oct. 10. The meeting will be held at the Henry Student Center of Wilkes University (South Street) at 7 p.m. Brozena, the former Luzerne County engineer, is directing the work being done on the Riverfront Project in Wilkes-Barre. Using a variety of visual aids, photos and diagrams, he will explain the details and progress of the project. The presentation is free and open to the public. All residents of the city and valley who are interested in the rejuvenation efforts of the Riverfront should are invited to attend.
SCRANTON – Melora Hardin will join her nine co-stars at the Oct. 26-28 convention in Scranton for fans of “The Office,” the planning committee announced Thursday.
Hardin plays Jan, the former no-nonsense boss and current unhinged girlfriend of Michael Scott, the regional manager of Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch.
The actress is also known for her role as Trudy, the beloved, late wife of Adrian Monk, from the USA comedy hit “Monk.”
The other cast members who have signed on to meet fans at the highly anticipated Scranton event are Angela Kinsey (Angela), Phyllis Smith ( Phyllis), Creed Bratton (Creed), Leslie David Baker (Stanley), Kate Flannery (Meridith), Mindy Kaling (Kelly), Oscar Nunez (Oscar), Brian Baumgartner (Kevin )and Bobby Ray Shafer (Bob Vance).
In addition to the actors, the show’s executive producer and Emmy Award-winning writer Greg Daniels confirmed last week that he and his writing staff will also attend Scranton’s celebration.
