Ladies Philoptochos Society raises funds for children in need

The Ladies Philoptochos Society of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Wilkes-Barre recently hosted a Vasilopita (sweet bread for St. Basil) luncheon for the entire parish. St. Basil Academy for Orphans and Children in Need in Garrison, N.Y., received a donation of $1,000 from proceeds raised during the Society's annual event.
