(AP) A union representing cabin crew at Lufthansa, Germany's largest airline, says its members will go on strike Thursday after talks on pay and working conditions broke down.

UFO union chairman Nicoley Baublies said on ARD television Wednesday that the crews would stay off the job for several hours on Thursday but did not provide more specific details on exactly when the strike would take place.

The strike at all German airports where Lufthansa has staff is expected to cause widespread delays and cancellations.

Baublies says workers at airports outside of Germany won't be on strike, but cautioned that the strike would still affect Lufthansa's passengers elsewhere, saying if planes aren't leaving Germany "they won't be there to pick up guests."
