Eight MMI Preparatory School students earned awards in the American Mathematics Competition 8 sponsored by the Mathematical Association of America. The competition is a 25-question, 40-minute multiple-choice examination in middle-school mathematics designed to promote the development and enhancement of problem-solving skills. Eighth-grade student Anirban Chowdhury received a first-place award and had the top overall score for the school. He received a pin for his achievement and a certificate for placing in the top 1 percent in the nation. All award winners at MMI received certificates recognizing their performance.
