WILKES-BARRE – A Plymouth man pleaded guilty Wednesday in Luzerne County Court to child pornography charges.
Audelis "Lee" Lugo, 46, of Morgans Lane, entered the plea to 10 charges of possession of child pornography. Plymouth police and the FBI investigated the case.
Judge Tina Polachek Gartley said Lugo will be sentenced on Jan. 18. He faces a maximum of seven years in prison on each of the charges.
Assistant District Attorney Maureen Collins said Lugo will be required to register his address under Megan's Law and must undergo an evaluation by the state Sexual Offender's Assessment Board to determine if he is a sexually violent predator.
Prosecutors withdrew a single count of criminal use of a communication facility against Lugo on Wednesday.
Polachek Gartley said Lugo is prohibited from going near places children frequent, including parks, schools and day cares.
Lugo was represented by attorney William Ruzzo.
According to court papers, on Oct. 22, 2009, the FBI's Scranton resident agent and Plymouth police conducted an investigation of Lugo. The investigation was originally initiated by the FBI from which information about Lugo was obtained.
Investigators took numerous pieces of electronic media, including a computer, from Lugo's residence.
The items were analyzed and revealed at least 10 images of child pornography depicting children engaged in sexual acts.
Investigators later learned Lugo may have received the images from Jason Randolph Picknarcik, who was arrested for possession of child pornography in June 2011.
Picknarcik allegedly gave Lugo a CD/DVD containing child pornography.
Picknarcik, 35, of Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, was sentenced in March to 10 to 20 months in county prison after pleading guilty in September 2011 to 88 counts relating to child pornography.
