U.S. Rep. Tom Marino, R-Lycoming Township, has been named vice chairman of the House Subcommittee on Emergency Preparedness, Response and Communications.In addition, the chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security, U.S. Rep. Peter King, R-New York, named Marino to two other Homeland Security subcommittees: Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Protection & Security Technologies, and Oversight, Investigations & Management.
King cited Marino’s prosecutorial experience as a U.S. attorney and district attorney when announcing Marino’s appointment as vice chairman on Tuesday.
Marino, a freshman representing the state’s 10th District, also was assigned to the House Judiciary and Foreign Affairs committees. He serves on two Judiciary subcommittees: Crime, Terrorism & Homeland Security, and Intellectual Property, Competition & the Internet.
