Meyers (4-4) at Holy Redeemer (2-6)

1 p.m.

Saturday

The Coaches: Meyers' Corry Hanson (7-11, 2nd year); Redeemer's Pat Reece (2-6, 1st year)

Last Meeting: Meyers 36-6 in 2011

All-Time Series: Meyers leads 4-1

Quick Fact: Meyers has won the last three meetings, two by shutout.

Scouting Meyers: The magic number for Meyers is five. Get five wins and there's a good chance the Mohawks will play in the postseason, with the Eastern Conference the likeliest destination.

Meyers took a huge step by bumping off Northwest 14-13 last Friday after a lackluster performance at Wyoming Area a week earlier. WR Matt DeMarco and QB Teaguen Labatch connected late in the game for the 10th time this season for the go-ahead touchdown.

The run defense has been shaky at times, but that shouldn't matter since Redeemer does very little on the ground.

Scouting Redeener: The Royals were close to inflicting the mercy rule on Hanover Area, leading 39-7 at one point. They hung on for a 47-37 victory.

QB Jimmy Strickland tossed for 488 yards as he threw a career-high 40 passes. Seven different guys caught passes, including WR Eric Kerr who leads the WVC with 50 receptions.

The run defense remained porous, although Meyers hasn't put up big numbers on the ground since its season opener with winless Holy Cross.

What To Expect: A lot of passing. It wouldn't be surprising to see the teams combine for 50 or so passes. Meyers, though, can run the ball and won't let a chance at the postseason slip by.
