MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The husband of a Minnesota woman who was trapped in her overturned car on a frozen pond says she could not get her door open or crawl out a broken window, so she spent 18 hours praying someone would find her.

Ron Breberg told The Associated Press on Monday that his wife, 67-year-old Nancy Breberg, of Centerville, is on a breathing tube, sedated and getting fluids as part of the recovery process. He says she has frostbite on her feet but no broken bones or other serious injuries.

A police report says the impact of the crash broke the ice on the pond and let water into the passenger compartment. Breberg was trapped with her feet in the water until a bicyclist found her Saturday and called for help.
