Cpl. John F. Nolan III, along with Honza, a military working dog, was promoted to Sergeant and received the Bronze Star while deployed in Afghanistan. Sgt. Nolan and Honza returned home from deployment on Dec. 8 to his wife, Cara, and daughter, Riley. He is the son of Jack and Sherry Nolan, Wilkes-Barre, and the grandson of Patricia Nolan and the late John Nolan, Mahanoy City. Sgt. Nolan is stationed at Fort Eustis, Va.
