(AP) Amber Deane scored 14 points and Kelley Austria added 12 to lead help No. 18 Dayton beat Fordham 68-57 on Sunday night.

Despite losing seven seniors from last season's team that lost to Arkansas in the first round of the NCAA tournament, the Flyers are off to the best start in school history with the lone loss coming against Bowling Green.

The Flyers (21-1, 9-0 Atlantic 10) led by three at the half before Austria took over, scoring six points during a 12-4 run to open the second half. The freshman capped the run with a lay-in that made it 45-34. The lead ballooned to 17 points before Marah Strickland rallied the Rams. She scored 10 points in a 12-0 run to make it 54-49 with 7:30 left.

Brittany Wilson had a putback and Olivia Applewhite a layup to make it a nine-point advantage.

Fordham (16-7, 6-2) could only get within six the rest of the game.
