No increase in taxes for Warrior Run

WARRIOR RUN -- Council passed 2013 tax resolutions at Monday night's meeting that keep all borough taxes at 2012 levels.

The property tax millage rate will be 1.9. A mill is a $1 tax on each $1,000 of assessed property value.

A budget of $212,696 has been proposed for 2013.

The council also passed a resolution that would allow the council secretary/treasurer to cite residents who do not purchase a garbage sticker. Previously the citation had to be written by the borough solicitor.

Dolores Mynes, the council's secretary/treasurer, announced that 2013 garbage stickers will be sold for $180. The price will go up to $215 after March 1.

In other matters, the council:

Voted to accept the resignation of Borough Fire Chief William Davis.

Appointed Karen Hazleton as borough auditor.

Planned a meeting in executive session to discuss a replacement for Borough Solicitor James Pyrah, who resigned.

Also, a resident complained about vulgar and offensive language used by teens at the school bus stop and the children's park.
