North End Slovak Citizens Club donates to local charities for 85th anniversary

The North End Slovak Citizens Club donated more than $8,500 to local charities in 2012 in honor of its 85th year of service to its members, friends, families and community. The installation of the 2013 officers was held on Jan. 13 at the club's monthly meeting. A formal installation will take place in March. Officers, from left: Richard Chmielewski, installing officer; Andrew Kopcho, club steward, board of governors; Michael Evans, chairman, board of governors; John M. Yencha, board of governors; Edward Plaksa, recording secretary; Andrew Butch Hvozdovic, president; Michael Minarik and Robert Palchanis, board of governors; George Fristic, financial secretary; Leonard Kalinoski, vice president; and John P. Kebles, treasurer. Also installed was Joseph Donnelly, sergeant at arms.
