7 p.m. today
The Coaches: Northwest's Carl Majer (31-17, 5th year); GAR's Paul Wiedlich Jr. (23-6, 3rd year);
Last Meeting: GAR 21-6 in 2011
All-Time Series: GAR leads 8-1
Quick Fact: GAR has won the last seven games in the series.
Scouting Northwest: The Rangers bounced back after being upset in week two by Susquehanna to defeat an outmanned Holy Cross team 41-0. RB Tony Politz finished with 196 yards, marking the fourth consecutive regular-season game where he went over the century mark. He has rushed for eight TDs in that span.
The defense allowed 48 yards and created four turnovers, including a fumble Denver McCort returned for a touchdown. The defensive unit has scored three touchdowns after having just one all of 2011.
Scouting GAR: GAR stopped a two-point conversion attempt with 15 seconds remaining to edge Carbondale 20-19 last Friday. It was the defense's best game vs. the run as it allowed just 121 yards and 3.8 per carry.
The key, though, is the offense awoke. QB Corey Moore threw for 147 yards – more than the first two games combined – and two TDs. WR/RB Lucas Benton had seven catches for 103 yards and two touchdowns. He is the Grenadiers' main weapon.
What To Expect: Probably a game similar to last year, with GAR making it two wins in a row.
