CHICAGO — Dayan Viciedo, Tyler Flowers and Paul Konerko each homered to back Chris Sale's six solid innings and lead the Chicago White Sox to a 5-4 win over the Kansas City Royals on Saturday.
Sale (16-6) scattered five hits and struck out six over six innings. He allowed six baserunners in the first three innings before settling down to retire the last 10 batters he faced.
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Rookie Jurickson Profar hit a tiebreaking RBI double in the 10th inning, helping the Texas Rangers beat the Tampa Bay Rays.
Geovany Soto had a two-out double to deep center off Kyle Farnsworth (1-4). Profar then made it 3-2 when he drove in pinch-runner Leonys Martin on his hit past a diving Carlos Pena down the first-base line.
MINNEAPOLIS — Cole DeVries pitched six scoreless innings to win his third straight start and the Minnesota Twins beat the Cleveland Indians.
