(AP) A Pennsylvania state senator is suing the NCAA over its use of the $60 million fine that Penn State is paying for its handling of the Jerry Sandusky child molestation scandal.
The suit filed in Commonwealth Court Friday by Sen. Jake Corman comes two days after Gov. Tom Corbett filed a federal antitrust lawsuit against the NCAA over the sanctions.
Corman's lawsuit says the state gives Penn State so much money every year that it would be impossible for the payments to be derived solely from non-commonwealth funds.
Corman, whose district includes Penn State's main campus, contends Pennsylvania taxpayer money must be spent on state purposes.
An NCAA spokeswoman had no immediate comment Friday.
Sandusky was convicted in June of sexual abuse of children.
