Patriots start strong against rival Warriors

YATESVILLE – Pittston Area won five of the first six matches to set the meet in its favor and held off Wyoming Area for a 47-29 win at home in a Wyoming Valley Conference wrestling meet.


Angelo Lussi, Ryan Joyce, Sam Falcone, John Minich and Jake Vaxmonsky got the Patriots rolling early. Falcone and Vaxmonsky scored pins while Joyce earned a major decision win.


Chris Starinsky also added a pin for Pittston Area.


Andy Schnutz, Charles Johnson and Nick O'Brien each won by fall for the Warriors.
