An Arkansas man pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges stemming from a December incident were a Plains Township family discovered him living in their attic.

Stanley Carter, 21, was recently charged with multiple counts of burglary, theft, receiving stolen property and criminal trespass.

The Ferrance family said they noticed something was funny when their belongings began to disappear, and a footprint was found on a wall of a bedroom closet, which leads to the attic.

Police said Carter had been stealing food and clothing from the home and living in the attic.
