HAZLETON – City police are investigating the reported theft of a handgun and other items during a break-in at a storage garage in the 800 block of South Church Street.

The burglary occurred between July and Saturday, police said. Taken were: a .45-caliber semi-automatic pistol, a girl's green bicycle, an unknown number of DVDs, a Toshiba DVD player, a Bose surround system and a Compac computer. Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to contact Hazleton Police at 570 459-4940.

BEAR CREEK TWP. – State police said they cited Joseph Anthony Powell, 53, of Scranton, with harassment after he allegedly pushed a 46-year-old woman to the ground at the former Bear Convenience Mart on Route 115 at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday.
