DUPONT – A man was arraigned Sunday on charges he fired a gun inside a building.
Owen J. Perrins, 24, of Laurel Lane, Dupont, was charged with discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and simple assault. He was released after posting $2,500 bail.
Police allege Perrins was intoxicated when he was found with a loaded .22-caliber handgun outside a residence in the 400 block of Main St. just before 5 a.m. Sunday.
Police were at the residence investigating a fight involving Perrins and another man.
During the investigation, police allege, Perrins fired a shot inside the residence, according to the criminal complaint.
No injuries were reported.
WILKES-BARRE – City police on Friday filed child endangerment charges against Gisela Reyes-Lopez, 37, after investigating a fight involving students at Wilkes-Barre Area's GAR High School.
Reyes-Lopez is charged with assaulting a student at GAR during a fight involving 20 to 30 students on South Grant Street on Oct. 22, according to the criminal complaint.
The student told police Reyes-Lopez claimed she was 16-years-old and out of school, and enticed students to fight, the complaint says.
Reyes-Lopez is charged with two counts each of corruption of minors, harassment and disorderly conduct, and a single count of endangering the welfare of children. The charges were filed with District Judge Martin Kane in Wilkes-Barre and mailed to Reyes-Lopez.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled on Dec. 20.
