HANOVER TWP. -- Police said they recently cited Bethany Hamilton, 24, of Hudson Road, Plains Township, with retail theft after she allegedly failed to pay for items at the CVS Pharmacy on Carey Avenue on Oct. 8.


A preliminary hearing is scheduled on Dec. 11 before District Judge Joseph Halesey.


• Police last week charged Justin Klein, 23, of Miner Street, Wilkes-Barre, with two counts of driving under the influence and a single traffic violation of careless driving after investigating a crash on St. Mary's Road on Sept. 23.


SCRANTON – A man who taunted authorities to capture him in videos he uploaded to youtube.com was caught Tuesday in Bath, N.Y.


U.S. Marshal Martin J. Pane said Scott Binsack, 43, of Clarks Summit, was wanted by Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole since Nov. 5. Binsack uploaded several videos to youtube.com claiming his innocence and taunting authorities to catch him.


Binsack was released on parole from the State Correctional Institution at Dallas in June 2011 after serving a sentence in Lackawanna County on multiple counts of theft and fraud related charges. He formerly owned a construction business in Clarks Summit.


Binsack was apprehended at a Budget Inn and was jailed in Steuben County, N.Y., awaiting court proceedings for his return to Pennsylvania.


WILKES-BARRE TWP. – Township police reported the following:


• A male juvenile from White Haven reported on Friday that his Apple iPhone 4, valued at $650, was stolen while he was in Chuck E. Cheese, Wilkes-Barre Township Marketplace.


• An unknown male stole $190 worth of jeans from Ollie's on Kidder Street on Monday.


• An unknown woman stole $209 worth of merchandise from the Walmart Supercenter, Wilkes-Barre Township Marketplace, on Monday. She drove away in a black GMC Jimmy.


FOSTER TWP. – State police at Hazleton cited Michael Brett Sanute, 49, of Weatherly, with harassment after he allegedly struck John Cherba, 35, of Weatherly, inside Four Bella's Bar on Nov. 18.


HAZLE TWP. – State police at Hazleton cited Arlington Zapata, 18, of Hazleton, with retail theft after he allegedly failed to pay for items at Boscov's Department Store on Sunday.


HAZLE TWP. – State police at Hazleton on Monday cited Cruz Martinez, 41, of Hazleton, with retail theft for his alleged role in the theft of a television from Walmart on Airport Road on Nov. 10. The television was recovered from a residence on 14th Street in Hazleton.


Two women in their 20s and a man in his 20s were also involved in the theft, state police said.


HAZLE TWP. – State police at Hazleton on Monday cited Johnny Marmol, 24, of West Hazleton, with retail theft after he allegedly failed to pay for items at Walmart on Airport Road on Nov. 9.


HANOVER TWP. – Police on Wednesday charged Spring Laurel Sey, 32, of Kingston, with forgery and theft by deception charges.


Police allege Sey used a counterfeit $100 bill to pay for items at Gerrity's Supermarket on the Sans Souci Parkway Nov. 16 and tried to use a counterfeit $100 bill to pay for items at Dollar General, 800 Sans Souci Pkwy. Nov. 20.


She was arraigned two counts of felony forgery and a single count each of theft by deception and criminal attempt to commit theft by deception and transported to the county prison for lack of $5,000 straight bail.


HAZLETON – Police said they responded to a large fight outside Shakers Bar on West Broad Street at 1:50 a.m. Tuesday. Anyone with information about the fight is asked to contact Hazleton Police.


BUTLER TWP. – State police said they will charge a 16-year-old male with harassment after he allegedly attacked a 14-year-old male at a school bus stop in Beech Mountain Lakes at 4 p.m. Monday.


HAZLETON – Michelle Rodriguez Thursday afternoon reported her 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee was stolen from a parking spot near the 600 block of North Vine Street.


The steel blue Jeep has Pennsylvania license plate HML 6410 and a Carlottacredit.com sticker in the back window.


Anyone with information about the theft is asked to contact Luzerne County 911.
