HAZLETON – Police arrested Daniel Delese, 22, of Jeddo, on assault and other charges after he allegedly struck a pregnant woman Friday. Hazleton police said Delese said he was going to kill the victim's unborn child and struck the victim in the abdomen multiple times.

Delese was arraigned Saturday morning on charges of aggravated assault on an unborn child, aggravated assault, two counts of simple assault, harassment and terroristic threats. He is being held at Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $50,000 monetary bail. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday before District Judge Joseph Zola, Hazleton.

• City police said William Lloyd, 48, of North Cedar Street, was arrested on public drunkenness charges at 8:39 a.m. Saturday following an incident near Walnut and Vine streets.

• A man was taken to Hazleton General Hospital following a three-vehicle crash on Church Street at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, according to city police.

Police said a Honda Accord driven by Jeffrey Todoran of Drums struck the rear of a Subaru Forrester driven by Wharinson Santana of Hazle Township, which in turn struck the rear of a Toyota Tundra driven by Ronald Zanoline of Sugarloaf. The accident took place in the Southbound direction on Church Street just north of Green Street, police said.

Police said Santana complained of pain and was transported by ambulance to Hazleton General Hospital.

HAZLETON – State police charged Jondylan Seritsky, 18, of Hazleton, with disorderly conduct after he allegedly made verbal threats against a 17-year-old male and a 15-year-old female Friday at the Hazleton Area Career Center.

WILKES-BARRE – Police said they recovered a vehicle that had been reported stolen at 7:49 p.m. Friday in the area of 365 N. Main St.

• Police said they arrested a woman who allegedly took a North Face jacked valued at $240 from Top of the Slope, 100 S. Main St. Friday.

According to police, Mike Miscavage of Top of the Slope told police he saw a woman later identified as Caitlin Neiderhiser stop near the jacket momentarily, then walk away pushing a baby stroller at approximately 4:12 p.m. Friday. Miscavage said after Neiderhiser passed the jacket it disappeared from the rack, according to police.

Police said they found Neiderhiser near the rear of the CYC building on South Pennsylvania Avenue at 4:40 p.m. and took her into custody. Police said Miscavage identified Neiderhiser as the woman who allegedly stole the jacket.

Niederhiser was charged Saturday with a single count of retail theft. She was released on $5,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday before District Judge Martin Kane, Wilkes-Barre.

• Police said Candice Kosek and Ronald Bundick were issued summary citations Saturday after being detained at Schiel's Family Market on Hanover Street for attempting to leave the store without paying for items.

A store security officer reported seeing Kosek put a cheesecake in her purse and try to leave the store. Four packets of Kool Aid and a bottle of Advil were also found in her purse.
